Nick Land - Click for Video

Video BlogHere’s the 1st of several videos from my recent trip back home to Indiana. This footage is from our camping/fishing trip out to the Rasche Farm near Grandview, Indiana.
I took a dip in Cow Shit Pond while Nick was fishing it. We caught some decent size bass out of it. The biggest bass was caught by Nick in Lono Lake. Video of that catch is forthcoming.
When I was running over the hill later in the video, I didn’t realize all those cattle were running with me. I also didn’t realize there were a couple bulls mixed in with that herd.

Go Pupie - Click for Video

Video BlogMunicipal elections were held in Hoboken today. One of my candidates for city council won (Tony Soares), mayoral candidate Pupie evidently did not. As of 1:29am, it looks like the incumbent mayor is staying in office. Oh well. My favorite candidate for city council, Scott Delea has fallen short, but put up a damn good fight considering he just jumped in to the race about 3 months ago.

PS. Is this footage legal? I’m going to have to find out.

Music: Blur - “Music is My Radar” from the album The Best of Blur

Video BlogGuest guitarist is Lenny. I go up to the roof with 2 beers in my camera bag, my guitar, and a folding chair. I sit down in the sun and play. I completely check out, forget where I am. I had left a note on our door: “On roof, bring beer, guitar.” Lenny and Rick come back from a horse farm where they had been shooting race horses all day (with cameras). Lenny comes up and strums for a while. I love the roof.

Bed Song - Click for Video

Video BlogAlternate titles for this entry:
1. What to Do When You Find Yourself Awoken From a Dream and There’s a Guitar Next to Your Bed and a Videocamera on Your Nightstand and You Have 20 Minutes Before You Have to Get Up and Go to Work on a Friday Morning.
2. Armpits of Destiny
3. Women and Butter in Your Underwear (A Song About, Written While In)

And later, a shot of the sun through the branches of a tree on my way to work. I watched Last Tango in Paris recently. Maybe that’s where the inspiration came from. Mmmm, butter.

Lyrics=
He woke up to find he was sleeping with girls whose minds were closed for safe keeping. And over the wall he saw the fall, the summer was ending and it was time for spending money and time on the girls he could find who knew the value of butter.

Anthology Film Archives - Click for Video

Video Blog We videobloggers were screened at the Anthology Film Archives in Manhattan last week. They mentioned that this fall they would like to do a weekly show of the best videoblogs. Cool, I say.

So, I transcribed this so I could subtitle this video and send it off to DeafTV.net, but haven’t figured out subtitling in Adobe Premier. So, here’s the text I was going to put in as subtitles:

for the gentleman who doesn’t know what this is this is videoblogging and these are videobloggers and there’s actually a lot of them across the world involved in our little group and what we do is that we make little short videos like she’s making right now and post them to blogs and we distribute them on the internet and it’s kind of like what we’ve always dreamed of democratized distribution of video. and it’s free. and I’ve got a little handout for you. haha. it’s kind of weird to be showing videoblogs on a big screen. music. whooo! hey is that like the Jerry seinfeld restaurant, no that’s actually up by my old house. but does it just say restaurant like that. there’s a name of it some diner, right? yeah it’s just like tom’s restaurant. hotdogs? who wants hot dogs? hot dogs! yeah! what are you gonna get on your hot dog? sauerkraut. Eww. This is one of those things where like if someone from another country saw this they’d just be like oh my god. be like people eating bugs and shit. meat and bread.. and cabbage, pickled cabbage. i’m not a fan of the sauerkraut, holdon i want some of that ketchup

Filmed on location at Anthology Film Archives and Gray’s Papaya
