Click for Video This video will only be relevant to those of you who have travelled (or were born in the backseat of a Greyhound bus rollin’ down) Highway 41 in southern Indiana, specifically the stretch of Hwy 41 south of Terre Haute that runs past a giant shopping outlet called Boot City.
When I was in the Cougars, we would joke about how great it would be to play a concert there. After years of touring, then a hiatus, we would come back to Indiana and play a reunion show at Boot City. The Cougars: Live at Boot City would become the album of the year.
Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative said major drug firms did not put enough effort into potential cures for mega killers like malaria and tuberculosis because medicines to fight them make no money.
This is from St. Roch’s Parish summer festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. The band is called Uncle Ju-Ju. We went to this summer social to check them out before hiring them to play my sister Katy’s wedding. They were pretty darn good, and great technical musicians. They played Weezer, and since they are from Indiana they played John Mellencamp because state law requires it.
Background story: The man who tends the cattle at Rasche farm is called “Gummy”, but his real name is Matt. One day Larry, Nick’s dad, told Gummy to burn some leaves or pine needles. He went to see how he was doing, and Gummy had piled the leaves in a metal barrel, poured gasoline on them, and was attempting to light them with his face over the top of the barrel. Needless to say, Larry was pissed. This is a terrible reenactment of that scene.
This deer must have wandered too far into the water at Lono Lake, and got her hoof stuck in the mud. Also included is footage of Smitty kissing his fish, and a turtle who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Children should maybe not watch this one either.
Featuring Brandon Cavins singing an original tune (unknown title), and Smitty, Cavins, Plocik, Rasche, and Quirk belting out “Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town” by Pearl Jam.
