Back to Egg River

May 9th, 2006 by quirk

The RSS feed has been fucked for the past few days. I switched servers and moved from Movable Type to Wordpress. Anyway, it’s working again. However, the Windows Media version is not, and probably won’t be until someone asks me for it. I hate WMV for a bunch of reasons, and if I’m going to encode a couple different versions of each video, I’d rather make the other one .3gp so people can watch it on their mobile gadget.

On another note, this alphabet project is going great. I’m up to letter “H”, and it looks like “I” shouldn’t be a problem. It’s very exciting business, this battle of attrition.

Also, allergy season is hitting us hard in the NYC area. But as Lenny pointed out, they say that every Spring: “It’s a bad year for allergies”. Luckily I’m not allergic to air, but just the stuff floating in it.

How are you? Who is reading this?

Goodnight, Internet.

If you want old episodes of TV shows, get them from ABC or any of the networks that are starting to release them for free. Dumbed-down, easily consumable SHIT that nobody in their right minds actually WANTS to engage with. “Did you see how funny last night’s “Stacked” was? Pam Anderson is HOT!” Yes yes, she certainly is…well actually, no, not really.

However, if you want stuff like this, or this, or this, or this, or this, watch the PAN. TV will die a gruesome death and we’ll all be giggling at the funeral.

Valentine’s Day Video

Video Valentines (Quicktime)

Here’s to Valentine’s Day! Seriously.

This is one of my favorite PAN feeds so far. Mica agrees.

The excellent piece about the origins of Valentine’s Day and Pan were done by Erik.

Santeria Chickens

This is from a series of headless, fully-feathered chickens I’ve seen in the gutter on Congress Street here in the Jersey City Heights. I told my friend Daniel about it, he lives in Manhattan, and he says he has seen them there as well. The Cuban people practice this form of Catholicism called Santeria, and one of the rituals is to sacrifice live chickens.

It’s natural

January 31st, 2006 by acq

100% sure that it’s all natural, but with some help from a friend. The training was informal, and was administered by a robotic belt named Click. That was in ‘94, and the progress hasn’t stopped since then…although the low end of the minor E scale always trips him up.

The PAN

The PAN

I hope you’ll go check out my newest project, The Public Address Network (The P.A.N.)

It’s a 15 minute video for your iPod or other portable video device. A new one every single weekday. Did I mention it’s made specifically for your video iPod, PSP, or other portable video gadget? The people making the video content for The PAN are making it with that in mind, the beautiful, portable small screen.

The team we’ve built behind this thing is astounding. It’s going to be great (already is).

“The Public Address Network is a video network for mobile devices. One serving a day of THE PAN contains all the essential vitamins and minerals for a healthy diet, of video for your ipod. Featuring viral video, original content, best of the web, arts and entertainment. Watch and learn.”

Things Vs. People

September 1st, 2005 by acq

Evacuation choppers in New Orleans are being loaded both with injured and sick refugees, and also with expensive medical equipment from the hospitals. Instead of more refugees, they are using the space in the helicopters to save the equipment from looters. The chopper pilot said the hospital authorities told her to do so.
