Life under a very busy skyway. Jets and birds fly overhead all day long. This video combines these two flying objects with a dash of Tom Ze, Se O Caso É Chorar.
My dad will like this because it features some great tromboning. I wish I would have gotten the name of the band. They were very good. If anyone knows, please tell me.
They’re called Loose Marbles, and you can see more of them on Youtube, Vimeo, or this article in the New Yorker.
Random clips shot today in the drizzle on my street in Clinton Hill. Testing a theory that anything is made more watchable if you play Cat Stevens’ “Trouble” on top of it.
Since the early 1980s small, independent groups of ordinary citizens have attempted to crack the mystery of the space-time continuum using nothing more than the Toyota Camry.
Aaron Valdez is one of our top performers at Wreck & Salvage. He assembled this video from spare parts and elbow grease.
Photo taken at Rodeo Bar. Darren Schlappich of Frog Holler hired me to produce a DVD of their live performances Friday and Saturday night. I have 8 tapes to go through, and from what I’ve seen, it’s going to make for a badazzz DVD. They were on point both nights, the audience was into it, and my 2nd cameraman and I got a ton of really great footage. Look for the DVD in a couple months.
My friend Michael Leonhard shot stills, digital color and 3200 speed black & white. Here are a few samples:
Written by Haven Gillespie and Beasley Smith, played by Adam Quirk.
Up in the mornin’, out on the job
Work like the devil for my pay.
But that lucky old sun has nothin’ to do
But roll around heaven all day.
Had a fuss with my woman, an’ I toil for my kids,
An’ I sweat ’til I’m wrinkled and gray,
While that lucky old sun got nothin’ to do
But roll around heaven all day.
Oh, Lord above, don’t you hear me cryin’
Tears are rollin’ down my eyes.
Send in a cloud with a silver linin’,
Take me to paradise.
Show me that river, Take me across,
wash all my troubles away
Like that lucky old sun give me nothing to do
But roll around heaven all day.
Happy St. Patty’s day. Booze and a guitar and a camera produces this sort of thing. My voice goes off-key. My poor guitar, I mis-finger her. She still loves me the next morning though. This song is Yellow Ledbetter.
Frog Holler is one of the best bands around. They play honest music, and sing honest songs. I discovered them through Nelson a couple years ago, and they’ve been in heavy rotation ever since.
Here are a couple videos from their show at Rodeo in NYC last year. I just now got around to editing them after finding the footage on my hard drive.
