Oktoberfest is a celebration of beer, food, music, and the fall harvest!
WHEN: Saturday, September 29 WHERE: 55 Lexington Ave., Clinton Hill, Brooklyn WHO: You…you…maybe you…and definitely you WHY: ? WHAT: Great German beer, great German food, great German and non-German music
Life under a very busy skyway. Jets and birds fly overhead all day long. This video combines these two flying objects with a dash of Tom Ze, Se O Caso É Chorar.
My dad will like this because it features some great tromboning. I wish I would have gotten the name of the band. They were very good. If anyone knows, please tell me.
They’re called Loose Marbles, and you can see more of them on Youtube, Vimeo, or this article in the New Yorker.
A couple more short Lumiere clips, these shot from the roof of my apartment. Tina Fey and a large film crew have been on my street for several days shooting “Baby Mama“.
Random clips shot today in the drizzle on my street in Clinton Hill. Testing a theory that anything is made more watchable if you play Cat Stevens’ “Trouble” on top of it.
Live or work in Brooklyn? Come by 55 Lexington Ave. in Clinton Hill tomorrow around 6pm for some BBQ and beers on the roof.
Kelly Taylor has generously donated a keg of Kelso Hop Lager, brewed just around the corner! You can read more about the Greenpoint Beer Works on ClintonHillBlog.
Photo taken at Rodeo Bar. Darren Schlappich of Frog Holler hired me to produce a DVD of their live performances Friday and Saturday night. I have 8 tapes to go through, and from what I’ve seen, it’s going to make for a badazzz DVD. They were on point both nights, the audience was into it, and my 2nd cameraman and I got a ton of really great footage. Look for the DVD in a couple months.
My friend Michael Leonhard shot stills, digital color and 3200 speed black & white. Here are a few samples:
Frog Holler is one of the best bands around. They play honest music, and sing honest songs. I discovered them through Nelson a couple years ago, and they’ve been in heavy rotation ever since.
Here are a couple videos from their show at Rodeo in NYC last year. I just now got around to editing them after finding the footage on my hard drive.
Why: Because I like the Art Bar and haven’t been in a while, because I haven’t seen a lot of the people that are going to show up in a long time, and because MissB has the night off.
