the puma like to taunt people by leaving tourist bones on doorsteps…what kind of acid trip is that guy on? i love how he said a bear growled at him. then he said he heard it like a half-mile away…i also loved how he disagreed anytime you said something was nice or cool…he looked like a true dharma bum.

Beautiful picture, face, reflection, voice. It’s funny - I just came back from a funeral of a photographer who shot a lot of great moments on the streets, shooting people who I’d be too nervous to approach. He was very tall, and Kate and I were talking about how many great street and news photographers we know who are very tall. I told her about Nelson and those amazing clips of people talking in Random Northwest. This was only a couple of hours ago. And this is a very similar kind of moment. I’d love to be able to get this kind of connection and openness with people on camera. It’s a gift.
