in the past year or so, i have left the political building that dwelled in since september 11, 2001...
before that, i stayed away from politics. i still have never voted, though i did register this past election.

i dont watch the news anymore so i dont have a gauge of the left-right meter. but when i was addicted to the news media i always felt it was dem ran and harsh on neo-cons etc... but i often read people who say quite the opposite. always confused me but maybe i was not paying enough attention or whatever. i pretty much just watched cnn and msnbc back then.

reason why i cannot be involved in politics right now is because i get UTTERLY TOTALLY ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with both parties. I think both are as bad as ever, just in different ways.
republicans badness has obviously resulted in more devastation. i can only hope it is a sad consequence of some balanced and brighter future... but who the fuck knows? not me. not you. not any pretty face dem looking to run. they all flop and flip and smile and tidy their ties and hair... waiting for their gopher analysists to tell them which direction to take their thought processes based on math and predictions and soap opera bullshit.

adam commented:
"She said that it was MUCH better under Saddam Hussein than it is now.
Bands of "insurgents" come through villages, raping and killing. U.S. soldiers raiding houses of innocent civilians. "

it's like some sort of killer insects that live under rocks... and we came and chucked the rocks away... and not the cancer is spreading... the effects can be seen on the body that is iraq.
we are responsible for this newly unveiled swarm of evil fucks shitting around iraq etc...
maybe thats how you terminate them. maybe thats how they terminate us. time will tell.
for now, fucking sucks every which way you look at it and their is no move that seems better than the another.

addicted to oil, he sais. addicted to oil.
truths starting to seep out as to the core motives .
and somebody fucking kill bin laden already! before the extreme dems start concocting more conspiracy theories before next election.
get that white trash bounty hunter dude on tv after his ass.

shite!

Here are some things that can be done, via a friend and co-conspirator Chris:

elect a democrat to the white house. a Non-DLC Democrat.

Elect democratic (again, largely NON-DLC) majority to both houses.

Extricate the US from all WTO GATT NAFTA and other “Free Market” treaties.
Restore the import tariffs that protected the US from its founding up til Reagan.

Pass legislation that firmly defines corporations as Non-persons.

Make it retroactive, and thus review all legislation using the Corporate personhood as precedent.

Rescind Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy and raise the highest levels of the tax bracket to around 70-88% much like they were during Eisenhower and Kennedy Administrations (one the features all the asshole neo-cons longing for that “golden time” always neglect to mention)
Hell, there should be no Income tax at all the first $50,000 of income.

Aggressively go after large corporations and monopolies for tax evasion etc.
Greatly reduce- if not outright end- most Taxes on middle and small businesses.

Reinstate the Media Fairness Doctrine that Reagan overturned and break up the existing media monsters.

Repeal the damage done by Clinton’s Telecommunications act.

Instate immediate Socialized National Health Care. Also, break up the pharmaceutical companies. Make all hospitals non-profit.

Pour enormous resources into two projects:

1) A Manhattan-style or Apollo-Style Energy generation and conservation effort- including a revamp and overall of the nation’s rail system.

2) Rebuilding the destroyed Public education system.

Organize and fund a reborn civil-rights movement, including Gay rights as a prominent concern.

What else?

Environmental protection. Any company that produces anything must demonstrate and institute a full-life cycle/recycling/end of life program for every product it makes.

Slash the military budget by 2/3 to fund a lot of the above (in addition to the added income from properly taxing the wealthy).

Launch local land/geographic re-evaluation committees across the US to re-zone and rethink the insane, resource-intensive sprawl.

I can’t think of more at the moment.

This is in addition to a large list of people that need to be put on trial in various venues for War Crimes etc.

Over the last 25 years, the damage has been done by both parties. They aren’t the problem. The problem is a mindset that makes people living in society deny their responsiblities to that society. The I got mine, you get yours approach to life is the real problem.

jesus, a lot of tax-restructuring is needed to handle all this.
mostly making the tax system more progressive, rather than regressive that it is now.

also
close as many military bases around the world as possible, and bring home troops we have stationed around the world.

end the war on drugs, destroy the for-profit prison industry.

redirect the subsidies currently going to large agribusiness to the small family farmers it was meant for.

one other thing for everyone to try in their own personal lives....go to work and ask your employer to pay you less money each week. then go out and buy things as if nothing has changed. take that a step further and spend your money at a faster rate than you did when you were actually making more money. doesn't sound like a good idea does it. fyi gw bush 43 has never vetoed a spending bill....EVER! he thinks that we can just print more of that shit.

Anyone that thinks W and his administration are doing a good job are being silly. the democrats have brought ideas to the page, but they are impossible to get through a Republican controlled House and Senate. When one side has power for too long it breeds corruption. I think this is becoming quite clear.

He thinks that Social Security is impossible to fix. Many people much smarter than myself (other Democrats) have suggested raising the income maximum to which the Social Security tax is applied. Currently, any income of $90,000 is not taxed for Social Security. If that cap was rasied to even 100,000 or 110,000 there would be much more money available to fund Social Security.

Ben Franklin has indeed nailed it when he said nothing is certain but death and taxes. Another saying can go along with that...you can't get something for nothing.

a good argument between two cousins....i think it is great when an elected official tells you one thing and then fucking ignores it and does the other. it's even greater when the other thing he does is 100% illegal. i mean it is seriously illegal. i'm not just talking out of my ass. i have nothing to hide...tap my phone. where does it end though.
