Troops Out Now staged a protest in Central Park and a march down Madison Avenue yesterday. The highlights were Ramsey Clark’s speech, and some rapper whose name I can’t remember talking about freedom. I’ll find out his name and update this entry.
Later I went to the Guggenheim museum, which is across the street from Central Park on the upper east side. This painting by Camille Pissaro called Hermitage at Pontoise (1867) blew me away.
Then right as I was leaving the museum, the protesters were marching south on Madison Avenue.
Then I went to Union Square for an Improv Everywhere smartmob. We took over all the windows of a building and did coordinated things like jumping jacks. 10 of us held up giant letters that read “Look Up More”.
Then I went to a kosher deli with Ryanne, Jay, and Peter and talked about video blogging.
