Charlie Daniels is an Idiot
Charile expounds on the recent tsunami as a sign of the times:
“Jesus spoke about wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation, earthquakes and famines, about the sun and moon being darkened and stars falling from the sky and the heavens being shaken.
We live in some terrifying days and I personally believe that what has begun will not cease. I believe that “Peace on Earth” is a beautiful, noble but unattainable dream until the day when the Prince of Peace returns and puts an end to war forever.
The day is coming when the Islamic nations will gather together and come against Israel and one of my main concerns for America is where we will stand when that happens. Will we stand with Israel or will we go to the United Nations and pass a resolution condemning the invaders?
Does all this sound a little far-fetched and fantastic to you? Well check it out for yourself in God’s word. The place to find it is in Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39.
Are all these things terrifying? Of course they are. When are they going to happen? I don’t know the day but I believe the season is at hand. Should we be afraid? Not if you’re a true follower of Jesus Christ.”

I just thought I would post a comment since I saw this was on Charlie Daniels. He’s actually my 2nd cousin. Although family, we do not share the same political views. However, it’s nice that we can all post our opinions though, however different they may be.

Charlie daniels has got to be the most respectable amn i have ever heard of. if anyone calls him an idiot, you must not be a Christian. and if your are one, your not a bible believing Christian. the word clearly states that troubles and turmoil is bound to happen because of sin in this world. it also says Satan is the prince of the world, so not many good things can come from that.its as true today as it has been ever since Satan tempted Adam And Eve. satan has a sure power grip on this world and hes not letting go until God casts him into the lake of fire. we WILL see havoc in the world, but we do see peace, you just have to believe and not lose hope. Charlie and the boys have always stood firm on God and this country. nad i wont stand for someone bad mouthing such a true follower of God.

charlie daniels is one of the most respected country music singers and all of you people who are dissing him are fags. if you guys understood country music you would understang how good of a guy charlie is and you guys dont know what music is until you have listened to his and other classic country music songs.

this guy is an idiot. probably has no idea who charlie daniels really is. my dad has been a good friend of charlie’s since the late 70’s….ive known charlie all my life and he has seen me grow from an infant to my current age of 21….he has to be one of the most respected, down to earth, and christian people i know. charlie is a great american and an even greater christian….

Listen man. I’m not a Christian. I’m a Jew (oh no!) and a nonreligious one at that. I don’t listen to his music (or country in general) either, though I do enjoy “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” However, I think Charlie Daniels is a very respectable and all around great guy. He’s not an idiot for believing in the Apocalypse. It’s a Christian belief. Don’t call the man an idiot for believing in a core part of his religion. I think it’s pretty admirable that he stands behind his Christian beliefs so firmly. Now, I don’t necessarily agree with his opinions. Personally, I think that as long as you’re a moral person then you will do fine whether there is a heaven or not, and you don’t HAVE to be religious (though it is nice to have moral guidelines). Anyways, my point is that the man is not an idiot for having strong beliefs. I don’t think the people who called him an idiot are idiots, either. They are something much worse: bigots. An idiot is someone that doesn’t know better. A bigot is someone who refuses to take a look at it from another perspective. After all these years of being bitterly disappointed in the integrity, or lack thereof, of people running for public office I’d think that I’d heard and seen it all. But John Edwards has broken some new ground bringing the things people are willing to do to get votes to a new low.
Can you believe that Edwards has actually made the statement that there is no war on terror? That it’s just a slogan, a bumper sticker being used by the Bush administration to cover up its mistakes?
If Edwards actually believes that, I consider him a foolish, naive politician, not fit to run for garbage collector, much less for President of the United States.
If he doesn’t believe it that makes him a liar first of all and an unscrupulous buffoon who will stop at nothing to curry favor from the far left wing of the Democrat party.
I would like to issue a challenge to Mr. Edwards. I dare you to go to Iraq and spend some time with the men and women who face terrorists everyday. Not the politicians or the brass, I’m talking about the grunts who carry the guns and take the fight to the enemy.
Fly out to the forward operating bases where terrorists set roadside bombs and lob mortar rounds over the wall.
And what about Osama bin Ladin and the Taliban Mr. Edwards? Do they qualify as terrorists? And how about the scumbags that blew up our marine barracks a few years ago? How about the suicide bombers who disenigrate bus loads if women and children in Israel, do you think they’re terrorists?
And the ones who flew American planes into the Trade Towers and the ones who blew a hole in the side of the USS Cole and destroyed our embassies in Africa, the Dico in Germany, the resort in Indonesia, the trains in London and Spain.
And the list goes on and on Mr. Edwards. There are terrorists all over the world and if you’re not astute enough to recognize it and that there is a war going on worldwide then you’re sure not astute enough to be President. You would leave America defenseless, refusing to acknowledge an enemy who is bent on destroying us.
You made a statement to the effect that the most important job you would have as President would be to travel around the world and restore the prestige that America has lost under the Bush Administration.
Well from the sound of your naive, irresponsible and downright foolish rhetoric I’m not sure there would even be an America to restore prestige for under an Edward’s Administration.
Remember Mr. Edwards, bumper stickers and slogans don’t kill people, terrorists do.
